My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? Jn 14:2

The story is told of a Pastor who whispered in the ear of a parishioner, who was very near death, “In my Father house are many rooms, I’ve prepared a place for you.” As we get older, the thought of our Father’s house becomes more dear with each passing year. There’s always something special about thoughts of going home, both in this life and even more so in the life to come. The life of a believer, on this earth, need never conclude with the thought, “and he or she died.” No, the life of a believer, on this earth, is best concluded by saying, “he or she has gone home.” Home, the place that has been prepared by our Father in heaven and made certain by the suffering and death of His Son as payment for all our sins. So we can also whisper in each other’s ears, “In my Father’s house are many rooms, he has prepared one for you.”
Prayer: How comforting it is to know that my Father in heaven has prepared a room for me. This being made possible because Jesus took up my sins and made atonement for them on the cross. How good it will be, to be home with my Lord. AMEN
